Release
I’ve made a game, yay!
It’s not perfect, yet, but it’s playable.
Now how do I tell you about it?
It’s a tiny roguelike
Primitive, one might say. You explore the endless dungeon, gather equipment and coins, occasionally fight some monsters and drink a potion or two.
At least it looks nice! You might like it too if you love tiny pixel sprites as much as I do.
And also it has a story. You meet with a devil! Just a few paragraphs of text, but it gives you some context to the otherwise uneventful dungeon crawling.
It has about five minutes of gameplay. Maybe ten? The dungeon is endless, but the game is not deep at all. Sorry, that’s all I’ve got from working for 3 months in my spare time.
It has some choices tho:
- Should you take a weapon that is more accurate even if it deals less damage?
- Do you fight that monster or better avoid it?
- Do you descend now or keep searching this floor for better loot?
- Should you check that door at the risk of (temporarily) losing a path to the exit?
- And do you really want to pay that red horned creep with your health for that shiny new armor?
Striking that deal is actually highly recommended.
Future plans
Luckily, I no longer have a full-time job 🥲, so there are many:
- ☐ Find a new job
- ☐ Add a way to win the game that would also be a glorious feat to achieve: seal that dungeon!
- ☐ Add scrolls that can open doors to certain new rooms
- ☐ And add variety to the rooms: new layouts, new stuff
- ☐ Make your character level up
- ☐ Keys? Gems? Amulets? Books? There are many new types of loot to add
Do you think it’d be nice to see that?
Did you try it?
I’d love to hear what you think. Leave a comment here and brag to everyone how far you’ve got on your first run. Or third. Or tenth.
Or join https://discord.gg/UE7dWyy and let’s have a chat!
Oh, and unless you’re allergic to ads you can also play the game on Yandex: https://yandex.com/games/app/296494?lang=en. It helps!
